On-Site PAT Training Courses

Our on-site PAT training courses are ideal for companies looking to bring their PAT testing in-house to save costs on external contractors and to gain easier access to PAT testing skills as and when required.

We carry out in-house PAT training courses for people from many different professions including caretakers, maintenance staff, office/clerical workers, landlords, charity shop workers and anyone else working in an environment with electrical appliances and equipment.

Since 2004 we have held on-site PAT testing courses at hundreds of different companies, teaching employees how to undertake appliance testing for themselves, and we will ensure that you have enough time to ask questions regarding your own business requirements.

Firstly – something we’re asked often – you don’t require any electrical knowledge or experience to carry out PAT testing or participate in our on-site PAT Training Courses.

In theory, everyone can carry out PAT testing provided that they have the appropriate knowledge on how to perform the task without putting themselves or others at risk. Undertaking a professional PAT Training Course – either in-house or at an open event –  is widely recognised as the best way to obtain this knowledge and competency.

To deliver our onsite PAT testing course to the highest standard, we train in accordance with the 5^th Edition of “In Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment” written by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). This is widely considered the national guideline for PAT testing.

We will provide a copy for each delegate to use throughout the day which will be returned to the tutor upon completion of the course, with additional copies available to be purchased at a reduced cost of £40 when booking the course.

We can carry out an in house PAT training course at your company if you do not already own a PAT tester as we can bring a selection along with us that you can use on the day. If you already own a PAT tester, we recommend you provide this for use during the session as this will allow the tutor to offer attendees specific training for the particular tester.

A maximum of 10 delegates is recommended as this ensures that everyone will be provided with adequate support throughout the day from our experienced tutors.

Our in-house PAT testing course has three open book assessments to help us monitor candidates’ progress and ensure appropriate competency. Successful candidates will receive a Certificate of Competency in PAT Testing.

Our tutors are all time-served, qualified electrical operatives, each having over 30 years experience within the electrical and training industries.

To conduct a PAT training course at your Company Premises, we require the use of a safe and quiet room for the entire course duration, large enough for the number of candidates attending with tables and chairs. We do not require the use of an overhead projector as our courses are conducted with the use of flipcharts which we provide along with all course material, pens, pads etc. Please note that the maximum number of staff we can train and supervise on any one day is 10.
