The Megger PAT450 PAT Tester is powerful appliance tester with multiple features that make it suitable for use in residential, commercial and industrial settings. It can perform earth bond continuity testing (200mA, 10A, 25A), insulation resistance testing (250V, 500V), substitute/differential/touch leakage measurement, load & run testing, polarity checking, portable RCD testing and fuse testing. Furthermore, there is a flash testing function (1.5kV, 3kV) that is ideal for use in repair centres and production facilities. An inbuilt 110V test socket means that there is no need for an adaptor in order to test power tools and other appliances.
Numerical results and a PASS/FAIL indication are shown on the illuminated colour display and limits can be adjusted by the user. Up to 10,000 data sets can be saved to the Megger PAT450’s internal memory and these are downloadable via the USB port. A full QWERTY keyboard can be used to add details and notes to records whilst five hot keys initiate the most common tests and there are also automatic sequences for Class I appliances, Class II appliances and extension leads as well as a manual mode.
The Megger PAT450 is available in a range of kits that enable the user to make the most of the advanced testing capabilities. Each kit contains a carry case, IEC adaptors, extension leads, and PAT labels. It is possible to add a Megger PAT400 Label Printer, a barcode scanner, microwave leakage detector or Megger SimplyPATs V7 software according to the user’s preferences.
